We managed to catch Kissy Sell Out in Liquid Rooms as he came towards the end of his “Turn It On” tour, and had a quick chat about his tour and the the new album “Wild Romance”

my big weekend

i have to say, i haven’t properly blogged for a while. giving the excuse that i’ve been busy is utterly pathetic - i have been busy yes, but never too busy to write something. so for that, i apologise. but i’ll attempt to make it up to you. b

kissy - my new hero

i have had an immense weekend.

appart from the fact that i went to the radio 1 big weekend on sunday, seeing lady gaga’s frankly astounding set and yet again being blown away by magnetic man, the two day’s leading up to the day were the most amazing for me. amazing would be one way of describing them, although i feel surreal is probably more appropriate.

through my amazing sound man, mr latour, i managed to find myself running lights and sound for the two biggest club nights carlisle has ever seen. just being able to stand in the booth with calvin harris and pete tong would have done it for me - but i was able to work with them all night. and along with annie mac, riva starr, jaguar skills, erol alkan (arsehole of the first order) and the brilliant kissy sell out - i genuinely could not have asked to meet with a more legendary bunch of people for me.

my absolute highlight was kissy, who not only produced an incredibly energetic and technically out of this world set - but managed to break two of the four CDJ 2000’s and carry on like nothing happened. a truly class act, and one whom i have an inkling may just become one of the big boys in a few years.

i don’t want to go on and on, so i’ll end here. suffice to say, i’m still recovering from being in a room with all of my idols (and the heinous lack of sleep)
